Baliem Valley Excursion 5 Days


Tour Itenary :

Day 01  Arrival - Jayapura - Wamena
Morning arrivals at Sentani airport of Jayapura, you will be met , then to connect with the second flight to Wamena around 11.00. Arrive at Wamena airport, transfer to hotel. After short briefing,you will be visiting Napua hills with good panoramic of Baliem Valley,Afternoon you will be transfered to Wesaput village to see the traditional hanging bridge and Dani villages. Before drive back to hotel, stop at traditional market to see the local people how they selling their products. Backto your hotel.
Day 02  Wamena - Jiwika( Pig Feast & dance) - Wamena

After having your breakfast, today, you are going to Jiwika village situated in the North of Baliem valley to see the 250 years old Mummy. Short walking to reach the village of Anemoigi where you can view the Dani Mock battle and Pig feast. You will see how the Dani make fire traditionally, kill a pig with bow and arrow and cook them into the hot-burned stone with vegetables and sweet potatoes in the steaming pit on the ground. Afternoon climb the salt pool where salt pool exist on top of Mili mountain or visit the cave of Wosilimo and Dani village of Suroba. Afternoon back to hotel.

Day 03  Wamena - Kurima - Wamena
After breakfast , Today the excursion to Sogokmo villagesituated at South of Baliem valley, and start to have a day trek for about 4-5 hours thru Dani sweet potatoes gardens and enjoy the gorgeous scenery surrounding, you get to Kurima the sub-district. Along the trail you will meet local people with friendly smile in their traditional clothes, Afternoon back to Sogokmo village where the car is waiting for back to Wamena.
Day 04  Wamena - Jayapura
After breakfast at hotel, you will be transfered to the airport for your flight back to Jayapura. Arrive at airport of Jayapura. You will have a full day sightseeing tour including Mac Arthur 2nd World War monument, Sentani lake.Afternoon, visit Anthropology museum (open from Monday to Saturday at 09.00-14.00), then to Hamadi market & Jayapura city. Afternoon check in hotel.
Day 05  Jayapura - Departure
After breakfast, Free at your own leisure until transfer to airport for your next destinations.
